Audio filters designed for professional, analog sound
At Audio Merge we develop tools that combine classic musicality with modern precision. Our filters are inspired by ALTEC and Langevin units designed in the 1960s, recovering their original behavior and expanding it with current features so they can integrate into any studio workflow.

Each design retains a vintage aesthetic, but incorporates improvements in control, ergonomics, and flexibility, turning them into creative tools for production, mixing, and sound design.

Filter replicas adapted to the contemporary studio
We replicate historic circuits with a respectful approach, but introduce additional parameters that allow for more precise and versatile work. This allows us to offer tools with the analog texture sought after in hybrid studios, but with a consistency that vintage equipment that has made it to the present day cannot guarantee.

During the design stage we analyze multiple technical aspects to ensure musical, consistent behavior:

  • Noise floor: we check that the circuit remains quiet even in professional chains with a wide dynamic range.
  • Harmonic distortion (THD): we evaluate how the filter response adds character without introducing unwanted artifacts.
  • Measured filter curve: we verify that each cutoff frequency corresponds exactly to the intended behavior.
  • Batch tolerances: we measure normal deviations of passive components to ensure all units respond the same.
  • Consistency between dials: we ensure that each step-by-step position has a clear, musical, and stable jump.

The presence of custom multitap inductors allows the frequency response to be adjusted with total precision.

Audio Merge KTBK1B and CF67B, our passive filter fam

Audio filters built for the modern studio
Our users highlight several important points:

  • Stepped-dial ergonomics: each position is clear, repeatable, and makes recall easier in hybrid sessions.
  • Natural integration in analog and digital chains: they work just as well before or after modern processors, enabling a flexible flow.
  • Consistency between units: thanks to DSP validation, two identical units behave practically identically, something unusual in passive products.
  • Musicality first: Our priority is sound quality, reproducing the identity of the original gear with minimal differences and applying improvements only when they add musicality or usability.

We prioritize:

  • Short passive paths: fewer elements in the signal means greater transparency.
  • Natural behavior: we seek smooth transitions, organic curves, and the absence of digital artifacts.
  • Musicality over “spec chasing”: we prefer a beautiful, mix-useful response over extreme specifications with no real value.
  • Creative modes like BELL/NOTCH: they expand expressive possibilities without compromising the vintage character of the original design.

Analog filters for real tones

Our units are ideal for users who want:

  • Expressive, musical sweeps: perfect for dub, ambient, techno, downtempo, or experimental sound design.
  • Real analog texture in modern DAWs: they add the “weight,” natural imperfection, and movement that digital tools do not generate on their own.
  • Classic King Tubby-style filtering: they recreate the aesthetic that has defined decades of original dub.
  • Modern precision for hybrid mixing: each dial step and each curve is stable, which facilitates automation and repeatable processes.

The compact format of the KTBK makes it easy to use live or in mobile setups, while the rack format of the CF67B is geared toward stable studio environments.

We guarantee the quality of our filters through:

  • Premium components: selected capacitors, custom multitap inductors, and high-reliability switches.
  • Hand assembly: each unit passes through expert hands who verify soldering, layout, and internal connections.
  • Test-bench measurements: we confirm noise, distortion, and filter behavior before final closure.
  • DSP validation in design and production: ensures each unit performs within an extremely tight margin.
  • A/B listening tests: we use reference monitors and real musical material to validate musicality and expressiveness.

The result is a unit whose response is predictable, coherent, and musical, even across different units.

That’s why our after-sales service focuses on supporting every user with close, expert, and solution-oriented assistance. We’re present at every stage to ensure everything works exactly as it should—from signal-chain setup to integration in modern studios.

Specialized technical assistance with a boutique approach

Our support stands out for its direct, human approach. We prefer real conversations and smooth communication. That proximity, along with the ability to provide advanced technical solutions, defines a boutique-style support experience that our clients value highly. In addition, we provide manuals, clear technical documentation, and detailed specifications directly on our website.
In Europe, we also offer analog gear repair services, extending the lifespan and performance of these types of systems.

Fast responses and helpful resources

Speed is one of our commitments. We respond quickly to any inquiry and, when necessary, we produce specific tutorial videos to guide the user step by step in resolving issues.
Our clients especially highlight these visual materials, as well as the clarity of our manuals and how easily we support any installation process.

Warranty, spare parts, and traceability

Our after-sales service includes a 2-year warranty (1 year in the U.S.), spare parts availability, full traceability of each unit, and a historical service record. In some cases, we even incorporate later functional improvements, as happened with the NOTCH module, which we added after the product was already on the market.
